www.Employment.oregon.gov/ - Oregon Unemployment Benefits Claim Online | Employment Department

www.Employment.oregon.gov is the official web site of Oregon employment department. This site serves employers, job seekers and other related persons.

Employers should visit the section specially prepared for them from the link “employer” at the left side of the home page to learn the employment service programs for employers. The link is in red font, employers can click on it to learn the details. The popular business tools are also available on the site. But all I can find are helpful links instead of the tools. I was wondering where the business tools are. I don’t think those helpful links are the tools, although some links can guide us to find the tools. From the links at the left side of the section, employers can get the job market information, post jobs, get to know the incentive programs, and do many other things.

Job seekers can go to their section through the link “job seeker”. There they can learn about the employment service programs for job seekers. The link in red font beside the picture can take them to learn the information. From the section, job seeker can contact an office near them, they can browse Oregon job listings, file for unemployment insurance online, find resources and locate one stop career services nationwide and so on. Job seekers can also get to learn the resources and events from the section.

From the site, people can get to learn the unemployment insurance. They can get to know the online claim system, the general information, the important news and notes, references from the relevant section.

From the site, people can learn more about the employment department of Oregon State. From the link “about us”, they can learn the detailed introduction about the department. From the link “contact us”, they can get the contact information. From the link “office locations”, they can find the office near them. From the drop-down box, they can get to know more about the divisions, the commissions and others of the employment department.

In one word, as long as you take note of the links at the left side of the page, you can tell that you can get any employment and unemployment related information from the web site. But compare to the employment web sites of other states, this site is not a successful web site. If you view the information section by section, you will find all the information is somehow in disorder. They are not well organized. I hope the web designers of the site could draw lessons from other similar web sites and re-organize the contents of the site.
